At Silk, we are committed to ensuring that staff have the necessary resources and training to settle into their role with ease.

That’s why each employee has an ‘on-boarding buddy’ who assist new staff during their first few weeks of employment.  In addition to training, it’s a great way to settle in and have a friendly face to ask questions or further support.

GOING THE MILE AWARDS

At Silk, we recognise staff who have gone the mile! Although we recognize the valuable contribution our staff make each and every day, we especially recognise 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25+ years of service.

Meet Joseph, he’s been employed with us for 26 years and is a valuable member of our Altona Distribution Centre as a Forklift Driver.

 

EMPLOYEE WELLNESS

With over 20% of Australians suffering from a mental health condition every year, Silk ensures staff have access to professional counsellors to assist employees with these challenges through our Employee Assistance Program.

Silk provides access to confidential qualified counsellors to assist employees to understand and clarify their issues of concern and assist in the development of plans to find solutions.

A range of self-help resources are also available including digital programs, apps, wellness videos, webinars, facts, workbook, assessments, training programs and much more.

With a continued focus on employee wellness, 2021 will see the introduction of new programs supporting staff in all matter related to health and well-being.
