Hoffmann Transport was established over 100 years ago and remains one of Australia’s oldest privately run transport companies. We started with a horse and cart, providing cartage services from the waterfront. Today, with a fleet of over 60 trucks, 11 side-loaders, and more than 100 trailers, our business has grown into Melbourne’s premier wharf and container transportation service provider.
Our people are our greatest asset. Our management is highly motivated, customer-focused and proud to work for one of the oldest transport companies in the country. Our ultra-professional and highly committed warehouse staff, driver group, workshop and administration personnel all add up to a first class team.

Our Services
Hoffmann Transport maintains a depot capacity of approximately 20 acres located within 10 minutes of the Melbourne wharf. This gives us the ability to handle in excess of 4,000 TEU at any one time. Combined with our expansive yard capacity and over 4,000 square meters of warehousing space, we operate two 45 tonne rated reach-stacker forklifts and one 44 tonne rated mast forklift - ensuring optimised yard throughput and turnaround. Add to this one of Melbourne’s largest wharf transport and side-loader fleets.
We have developed longstanding supply links by road, rail and sea to all major cities in Australia and currently dispatch in excess of 100 loads per month, either as full container loads, full or part road loads or pallets.
Offering import and export containerised transport, true intermodal capabilities, warehousing, quarantine and fumigation services, project management and execution services, a century on we’re still considered king of the waterfront.
